Our Unique Approach

Work 1-on-1 with a licensed physical therapist throughout your rehabilitation and performance process.

Suarez Physical Therapy Orthopedic Rehabilitation Step 1 Identify Root Cause of Issue

STEP 1: Identify the Root Cause(s) of Your Issue

At Suarez Physical Therapy we see you as a person, not your ailment. You may be: in pain, feeling stiff or tight, finding it more difficult to move or stay active, stagnant in your progress, experiencing decreased movement or levels of performance — whatever your issue may be, we will first work WITH YOU, one-on-one, to identify and address the root cause(s).

With any injury or movement limitation, this begins with a fulsome, candid discussion to understand your background, issues, concerns and goals. We will also conduct a hands-on assessment, and movement and strength evaluations. Each person’s issues are unique, and aside from acute injuries, your issues may be stemming from a variety of factors, including those which may not be readily apparent, e.g., sleep, stress, daily habits and weakness in other areas of your body. Even for acute injuries, we need to understand each of these areas to determine how and why the injury occurred and the best course forward to heal, strengthen and prevent future injuries. You and your therapist will work as a team to identify your unique cause(s) so that you can address them together.

Suarez Physical Therapy Orthopedic Rehabilitation Step 2 Provide Effective Treatment

STEP 2: Provide Effective Treatment

Effective treatment may come in various forms depending on the root cause(s) of your issues. It will almost always include manual, hands on, treatment, in-clinic form and strength exercises and an at home exercise program tailored to address the unique root cause(s) of your issues. No matter your issues, we aim to keep you moving as much as possible throughout the rehabilitation process — after all, “movement is medicine”!

For acute injuries - e.g., fractures, sprains, knee / hip replacements, ligament tears - our therapists have expertise in preparing you for surgery (if it is needed) to put you in the best position for a successful recovery, as well as post-surgery and/or post-injury standards to ensure that you’re progressing appropriately and in a way to get you back stronger and more resilient than before.

For non-acute injuries - e.g., low-back pain, hip pain, knee pain, wrist pain, shoulder pain, strains - we will address the underlying cause(s) of the issue and provide you with hands on treatment to help alleviate the pain and the appropriate exercises to address weaknesses and limitations, progressing and strengthening as we go.

If your issues are being impacted by other areas of your life, we may also direct you to other experts for additional assistance if appropriate (e.g., massage, nutrition, etc).

Suarez Physical Therapy Orthopedic Rehabilitation Step 3 Return to Your Active Lifestyle

STEP 3: Return to Your Active Lifestyle

As active individuals, we understand the desire to keep moving - going to the gym, playing a sport, maintaining your daily activities - doing the things you love!

With an injury, depending on the degree, you may have some limitations. Throughout your rehabilitation process, we will work with you to identify what those limitations are and, of equal importance, identify the activities you can still do. We will work with you on modifications and work throughout the process to progress you back to your full, desired level of activity; getting you back better and more resilient than before!

Just as “movement is medicine,” “knowledge is power.” We will also work with you to help you understand your injury, your body, your movements, and develop the tools and confidence to achieve your goals, increase performance and sustain your active lifestyle.

Rehabilitation is simply training in the presence of injury.
